Deepika Padukone In Her New Movie Acting Without Makeup

There are many actresses in Bollywood who at least once had gone without make-up or going to appear de-glam in their films to look natural on-screen. If Priyanka Chopra has gone with minimal make-up in 'Kaminey' then Katrina Kaif will be seen sans make-up in ‘Rajneeti’. Even Kareena Kapoor went without make-up in ‘Dev’. But Saif’s eyes caught around Deepika and he is quite impressed the way Deepika is looking without any artificial make-up in ‘Love Aaj Kal’. He is overjoyed to see his leading lady sparkling even in her natural look.

A close friend of the actress revealed, “Deepika suggested she wears no make-up in the film as she wanted her character to look as real as it can. She wanted to look natural on screen... She looks absolutely beautiful! Saif thought she ‘sparkled’ on camera!”

DEEPIKA PADUKONE Interview On Item Girl

She is only three films old. But already the Shantipriya of OM SHANTI OM has proved that she is the uncrowned queen of today's Bollywood. Politically correct, she is, Deepika talks to our correspondent about her inward journey during the shoots of LOVE AAJ KAL.

Your fourth release is just round the corner...
And I am too excited about it. This film LOVE AAJ KAL is the first film where I could actually relate to the character I am playing. When Imtiaz (Ali) narrated the script to me for the first time, I knew then and there that I can't afford to let go this film. All I had to do was to walk into the sets and play myself.

You and Saif are looking too cool in the trailers. What's behind this great chemistry?

" I am not here to backbite and gossip."
I really don't know. But one thing I can assure that when you see the film, you will forget Deepika and Saif, and automatically focus on Meera and Jai.

Are you always on for love stories?
I am addicted to love stories. I love everything about love stories-the emotions, dream sequences, love notes, sweet nothings...I am a romantic at heart. And this film is too close to my heart.


Don't you feel lucky that you are working with big names at the very beginning of your career?
Definitely. Started with Shah Rukh Khan, then Ranbir (Kapoor), Akshay Kumar and now Saif Ali Khan. Thankfully directors and producers, now-a-days, are ready to cast newcomers in equally challenging roles.

Why is that you are always politically correct?
See, I am not here to backbite and gossip. I am not saying that I am blind to what's happening around me in the industry, but I don't need to be a motor-mouth

Actually, the director of the film Jayanth, who introduced Bollywood beauties like Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu and Preity Zinta, is said to be Deepika's good friend. And Deepika had long back committed to Jayanth about the same. Reportedly, after shooting the number Jayanth couldn't stop raving about Deepika's performance and went gaga over it. According to him the song is one of the major highlights of the film and everyone will love to watch it once the film releases.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Arrested At Indian Airport

Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was arrested by India's Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Monday, a day after he was detained at the international airport here for carrying undisclosed foreign currency worth more than $100,000, an official said. "He has been arrested and will be produced in Patiala House court later today (Monday)," a DRI official told IANS. Rahat had been taken to the DRI office at the CGO Complex Sunday after he was detained at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport Sunday. He was on his way back to Pakistan after attending concerts and award functions in India. More than $100,000 were recovered from the 15-member troupe. Any amount in excess of $10,000 has to be declared by a traveller to the customs. According to officials, Rahat was questioned by senior DRI officials till late last night. Rahat is the nephew of legendary singer late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and is popular both in India and Pakistan. His numerous hit songs from Indian films are a rage on both sides of the border, for which he has won several awards, including the recent Filmfare award for "Dil to Bacha Hai Jee". He was also a judge on the Indian music reality show "Chhote Ustad". Pakistan has begun frantic efforts to secure the release of the singer. Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir called Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad Sharat Sabharwal and discussed the matter around midnight Sunday. He requested the Indian envoy to ensure that "no official should misbehave with Rahat during interrogation".

SRK: ‘If Salman is upset with me, then it is my fault’

Karan Johar completely broke down when SRK started speaking about his former friends Farah Khan and Salman Khan. The episode of Koffee with Karan will air on January 2.

A source on the sets says, “SRK’s episode with KJo is emotional where Shahrukh Khan has been caught in a mellow, introspective mood. He is emotionally vulnerable, revelaing things that have hurt him in the last year.”

The source continued to add, “When Karan pointed out people feel that old friends Farah Khan and Salman have problems with Shahrukh Khan, SRK said, ‘I don’t know how to make friends and if I did and I have no clue how to keep them. If Salman and Farah are upset with me then it is 100 percent my fault, but I can’t pick up the phone and say sorry. I cannot apologize because I have ego issues, but because I cannot say get myself to ask people to come back to me. Once I did ask my parents to come back to me and they did not.”

He also admitted that one of his biggest enemies is his cell phone as many of his friends have complained that he does not take their calls and ignores them. At one point Karan had tears in his eyes when SRK said, “I feel it is understood that I love them if I have said it once, I cannot keep repeating it. I have some problem in saying ‘I Love You’ twice and thrice and keep repeating those words. Even in my movies I can never keep saying ‘I Love You!’”

KJo said, “It was totally a different cup of coffee this time. it is really awkward to discuss and recreate all those intimate scenes normally again. Till date I have never become emotional on the sets of Koffee with Karan, because that has never been the tone of the show. It is usually controversial and spicy.”

When asked about SRK on the couch he says, “SRK is one of the warmest human beings I have seen in this industry, he has spoken openly about his family, friends and relationships. There is some strength in what he said. He is beyond any kind of issues. You can feel that he has risen above every situation and this comes beautifully through this show. This coffee on the couch episode with SRK was emotionally unplugged and more than humor unplugged. It has a new impact!”
